Elucid has raised a $55 million Series D to expand an artificial-intelligence imaging platform designed to help physicians identify cardiovascular risk before a heart attack or stroke. The Boston medical-technology company analyzes coronary CT angiography, turning scans into quantitative information about arterial plaque, vessel anatomy, and the effect of blockages on blood flow.

Its FDA-cleared Plaque-IQ software measures the amount and composition of plaque in coronary and carotid arteries, including plaque types associated with higher risk. Elucid is pairing that product with BioIntegrated FFR-CT, a non-invasive analysis of how coronary disease affects blood flow. The second product is under FDA review and is intended to give clinicians a combined view of anatomy, plaque biology, and physiology inside one reporting workflow.

The commercial thesis is that more detailed measurements can help cardiologists personalize treatment instead of relying only on population-level risk scores or invasive testing. A new Category I reimbursement code for coronary plaque analysis took effect in January 2026, according to MobiHealthNews, creating a clearer payment path for imaging centers and physicians. Elucid also launched a lesion-inspection tool within Plaque-IQ in April, but it has not disclosed revenue, customer count, or scan volume.

The oversubscribed round brings Elucid's disclosed funding to approximately $185 million. IAG Capital Partners and Elevage Medical Technologies, a Patient Square Capital platform, participated alongside other new and existing investors. An unnamed publicly traded medical-technology company joined as Elucid's fourth publicly traded strategic investor; Elucid previously raised an $80 million Series C in 2023.

Elucid plans to use the capital to commercialize Plaque-IQ, prepare BioIntegrated FFR-CT for a potential launch if cleared, expand medical-technology partnerships, and fund clinical studies and AI research. The financing therefore backs a regulatory and reimbursement inflection rather than a valuation announcement: neither the company nor independent reports disclosed a valuation, share price, ownership percentages, or preferred-stock terms.
