Anthropic is among the companies expected to benefit from a $60 billion AI-chip financing package that Broadcom’s Wall Street syndicate has begun assembling, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Banks were preparing syndication letters for a $42 billion senior-secured tranche, with Broadcom providing residual-value support that would effectively backstop that portion of the financing. The package has not been announced.
Anthropic builds Claude, a family of AI models delivered through a chat application, workplace subscriptions, the Claude Code coding agent and an API for software developers. A developer can investigate a new framework and choose a system design in Claude, then move into the terminal-based coding agent to build it. Companies can manage that work through shared business plans.
That workflow turns customer activity into demand for computing capacity. In February, Anthropic said businesses entering through API access, Claude Code or Claude for Work were deploying Claude more broadly within their organizations. It reported $14 billion of run-rate revenue, including more than $2.5 billion from Claude Code, and said more than 500 customers each represented over $1 million in annualized spending.
The business combines seat subscriptions with usage-based charges. Premium seats bundle the Claude application with Claude Code, while administrators can assign access, set spending limits and monitor usage; additional consumption can be billed at standard API rates. Anthropic also said it trains and runs Claude across several types of AI hardware and makes the models available through Amazon, Google and Microsoft cloud platforms.
The $60 billion figure is not an Anthropic equity round or an amount allocated solely to the company. Bloomberg described a debt package benefiting Anthropic and other AI companies, with Broadcom backstopping the senior tranche. The report did not disclose Anthropic’s share of the package, and the deal remains unannounced.
