Ultraviolette builds electric motorcycles for riders in India and Europe and is preparing a scooter for the same international market. The Bengaluru company raised $85 million in a round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, according to company statements reported by Moneycontrol and Business Standard.
The current F77 and X-47 models sit alongside two upcoming products: the Tesseract scooter and Shockwave motorcycle. Rather than engineer every vehicle independently, Ultraviolette says it has developed three core platforms covering performance motorcycles, lighter motorcycles and scooters. The financing will help move that broader lineup into production.
Underneath the vehicles, Ultraviolette says a similar control-unit architecture runs across all four products and processes about 3,000 data points each second. The company has also developed battery systems spanning 48-volt to 400-volt architectures, together with telematics and vehicle software. The approach is designed to reuse more engineering as Ultraviolette enters another vehicle category.
Ultraviolette currently sells in India and 20 European countries. Management told Press Trust of India that international markets account for approximately 15% of unit volume and 20% of revenue. The company is targeting a United States entry in 2027 and preparing pilot expansion into Latin America and Southeast Asia.
Manufacturing is now the immediate scale-up. Ultraviolette’s existing facilities can produce roughly 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles annually, while the first phase of a new Tamil Nadu factory is expected to lift capacity to 250,000 and eventually as many as 500,000. Management said it expects to need the larger capacity within 18 to 24 months.
