Nanochap, the Hangzhou company also known as Nuanxinjia, has completed a roughly $75.2 million Series C+ led by Gaorong Ventures, STAR Market Daily reported on November 3. The round comes while its retinal implant is undergoing early patient testing.
The report says Nanochap’s 320-channel retinal device has been tested in three patients, while its 1,280-channel visual-cortex device remains under development. It provides no aggregate safety or vision-improvement results.
Nanochap’s E-BCI uses a camera mounted on glasses to send encoded images wirelessly to an implanted array that electrically stimulates the retina. The company describes the resulting artificial sight as patterns of light and shades of gray, using preserved optic-nerve and brain visual pathways. Its V-BCI instead targets the visual cortex directly and is intended to serve patients with damaged or absent optic nerves.
The round follows a strategic financing of about $45.1 million announced in May, which was intended to support clinical trials and technology development. Legend Capital, a co-leader of that earlier deal, invested again; participants in the latest financing included PICC Equity and Monolith Capital. Figures are in US dollars, converted at November 2, 2026 reference rates.
Nanochap also supplies neural-interface and biosensing chips. A May 8 Wenzhou Metropolis Daily report, republished by Zhejiang Online, cited founder Yang Jiawei saying annual shipments of each chip category had reached the millions.
