Dulo, the AI startup co-founded by Sebastian Thrun and Adrian Aoun, has raised a $130 million seed round for models intended to help design hardware. SiliconANGLE reported that Aoun confirmed the financing after The Information broke the news on October 29.

The San Francisco company was founded earlier this year. It is developing AI to create and validate hardware designs, with manufacturing left to other companies, according to Dealroom’s account of The Information’s report.

Investors include former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt, Salesforce chief executive Marc Benioff and venture capitalist John Doerr, according to SiliconANGLE. Dulo did not disclose its valuation.

Thrun introduced Dulo as a small robotics venture still in stealth at the Actuate conference in August, according to The Next Web’s August 19 account of Business Insider’s reporting. He previously led Google’s self-driving project, which became Waymo.
