Axios reports Indigo is pursuing a $65 million Series C. The operating business is a bet on vehicles designed for work: electric vans for delivery companies and cars for ride-hailing fleets. Indigo's Flow Cargo concept puts a low, flat floor beneath the load area and locates the driver in the center of the cabin. For someone making repeated stops, the company is selling a different loading and driving routine, not simply an electric replacement for a conventional engine.
The vehicle architecture explains that pitch. Indigo says its SmartWheels combine propulsion and suspension at each wheel, freeing space that would otherwise be occupied by a more conventional arrangement. Flow Cargo can lower its entry height for loading and unloading, while the company describes the central driving position as allowing entry and exit from either side. A delivery operator's interest is practical: how easily a driver can move between the seat, packages and pavement throughout a route. Indigo's claimed efficiency benefits still need to be judged in operating fleets.
The same low-floor idea appears in Flow Ride, which is designed around carrying passengers rather than cargo. Indigo's product material emphasizes boarding access, room inside the cabin and configurations for riders using mobility devices. That is a different customer problem from maximizing delivery capacity, even if the underlying architecture is shared. A ride-hailing operator needs a vehicle that can be entered and exited repeatedly and kept working across a shift; passenger comfort and access are part of that calculation.
Indigo's pre-order page makes the commercial model and development stage clearer. It offers fleet pricing for orders of five or more vehicles, with pricing and availability handled through its sales team. The Flow vehicles are not represented there as a mature fleet already in widespread service: the company targets initial production for the second half of 2027 and warns that displayed prototypes and final production models may differ. Reservations and design specifications should therefore not be read as delivered vehicles or recognized sales.
The round remains reported, not confirmed closed. For the business, the next test sits between a persuasive vehicle layout and a dependable commercial product. A low floor may make an individual stop easier, but a fleet buyer also needs confidence in delivery dates, service support and performance over a working day. Turning the design into vehicles operators can buy, maintain and repeatedly put on the road is the milestone that would make the product proposition tangible.
