Jianzhi Robotics, which operates as GenRobot.AI, said it completed a $100 million Series A+ backed by Baidu, SAIC Motor and Galbot. The round closed in the third quarter, according to a November 2 Jiemian News report carried by Sina Finance, adding capital to its business supplying human-demonstration data for robot training.
The company records how people move and handle objects in homes, factories and logistics settings, combining images with information about head, hand and body motion. According to its website, customers can obtain raw recordings or processed datasets with cleaning and labels for training and evaluating robot models.
A head-mounted camera can lose sight of the wearer’s lower body during a task. GenRobot’s September 8 technical post describes reconstructing movement from these partial observations to create fuller training examples. The company acknowledged remaining difficulties with fast motion, blocked views and complex contact between people and objects.
The financing follows a Series A led by Momenta, announced on August 26. In its report at the time, 36Kr said existing shareholders also participated in that earlier financing.
