Legora, which sells an AI operating system to law firms and corporate legal teams, has raised a $550 million Series E at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation, the company announced. Atreides Management led the round. Legora plans to put the capital toward growth in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific and further development of Legora aOS.
The platform is meant to sit inside the legal work its customers already perform. Teams can use it for legal research and monitoring changes in law, then send new work requests through AI agents. That connects the point where a legal department receives a question with the analysis lawyers do next, rather than treating each task as a separate chatbot session.
Legora says more than 140,000 legal professionals at over 2,400 law firms and in-house teams use the platform across more than 80 markets. In-house departments represented over 40% of new customers in the third quarter, while the United States has become its largest market by revenue. More than half of the AmLaw 50 are customers, according to the company.
The revenue claims put the valuation in perspective. Legora says annual recurring revenue has passed $200 million. It also said the climb from $1 million to $100 million took less than 18 months, and the next $100 million less than six months. At the stated figures, the new valuation is less than 44 times its disclosed annual recurring revenue.
That scale arrived quickly: Legora was founded in 2023, launched the platform in October 2024 and now employs more than 1,000 people across 18 offices, including seven in North America. The funding also comes six weeks after rival Harvey raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation, TNW reported, citing Legal Business.
