Stand raised a $70 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation as the home insurer said the property it covers had grown from $1 billion to more than $10 billion in one year. Saga Ventures led the round. Stand currently quotes homes only in California and Florida, with expansion planned beyond those states.
Stand targets high-value homes exposed to wildfire in California and hurricanes in Florida. It creates a digital representation of each property, simulates how its construction, surroundings and weather affect fire or wind risk, and recommends changes intended to reduce damage. Those changes can then affect the quoted premium.
In a demonstration reported by Fortune, removing one tree from a home’s model cut the annual premium by more than $1,100, while removing another had little effect. Homeowners can use crews vetted by Stand or hire their own, then send photos for the company to confirm completed work.
Stand distributes policies through brokers, who can submit a home, see a price and bind eligible coverage in its portal. The company says it underwrites and services policies issued by Concert Specialty Insurance Company in California and Stand Insurance Exchange in Florida.
The Series C is twice the $35 million Series B Stand closed on Oct. 16, 2025. Stand said that earlier round would support its expansion into Florida; it now plans to expand across the wildfire-prone West and the Southeast, followed later by regions exposed to severe storms, freezes and floods.
Stand’s evidence for its model remains company-generated. It told Fortune that a blind validation involving roughly 310 California homes predicted whether they burned or survived about 85% of the time, compared with 50% to 55% for incumbent models on the same cohort. Fortune said it could not independently verify the results.
