Traversal raised $120 million in Series B funding at a $1 billion valuation on November 3 as engineers broaden their use of its AI beyond diagnosing outages. The company says roughly two-thirds of usage now involves other work, including assessing release risks and sorting alerts.
The New York company builds software for teams that keep enterprise applications running. Its AI combines operational logs and metrics with code and deployment histories, then tests possible causes of a failure across connected services.
Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures and Khosla Ventures co-led the round; Sequoia and Battery Ventures also invested. The financing is 2.5 times the $48 million in combined seed and Series A funding Traversal disclosed when it emerged from stealth in June 2025. It plans to hire across research, engineering and commercial teams.
Traversal’s Incident Workers, made generally available in September, can begin investigating in Slack or Microsoft Teams without waiting for an engineer to ask. The same release put Alert Workers into public beta to sift through continuing streams of warnings. Earlier versions responded to questions or predefined triggers.
At Nubank, founder and CEO David Vélez described an early rollout in comments reported by TechStartups. He said engineers were incorporating Traversal into incident response five weeks after deployment began. “We’re expanding it wave by wave as those results hold up,” he said.
