VÆRIDION closed a roughly $33.8 million Series A2 to build its first certification-conforming electric regional aircraft, the company announced on November 5. A separate EU grant of about $106 million for a final assembly facility remains subject to an agreement expected in 2027.
The Munich company is designing the Microliner for airlines and charter operators, with passenger and cargo versions planned. It targets a 400-kilometre range with nine passengers under instrument flight rules and commercial service in 2030.
SHIFT Invest and Invest-NL led the round, with World Fund, Project A and Vsquared Ventures returning. The new equity is more than twice the size of VÆRIDION’s December 2024 Series A, which World Fund led. Figures are in US dollars, converted at November 4, 2026 reference rates.
VÆRIDION says it has commitments for more than 130 aircraft, with Belgium’s ASL Group as launch customer. In June, it disclosed that more than 100 aircraft were covered by letters of intent from six prospective customers, including regional airline Avanti Air and electric-flight training provider E-Flight Academy.
The company opened a battery-production and testing hangar at Oberpfaffenhofen in March and has since powered on an electric engine. It next plans ground tests that combine the battery packs and propulsion system, plus wind-tunnel work to prepare for flight testing, according to its November announcement.
