Siggy raised $6 million in pre-seed funding led by Village Global as it publicly launched an online psychiatry service pairing daily AI check-ins with its own medical team. The New York startup announced the financing and launch on November 5.
CEO Jonathan Sabbagh told Crunchbase News that therapists and medication prescribers often work separately, leaving patients little opportunity to discuss symptoms or side effects between prescribing appointments. Siggy gathers information for clinicians to review during those gaps, while patients can keep seeing their existing therapists.
Daily reports on sleep, mood, medication use and physical wellbeing feed a Siggy Score out of 100. The company’s FAQ describes the score as a trend relative to each patient’s baseline. The software flags changes for clinical review; licensed clinicians make diagnoses and decide whether to prescribe medication or alter treatment.
Siggy says its psychiatric providers are employees and that the service uses a monthly membership. It accepts commercial insurance across all 50 states; insured patients’ costs vary by plan, and patients can also pay directly. The company provides weekly check-ins during the first eight weeks of treatment.
The founders told Crunchbase News that the round is Siggy’s first outside financing. They plan to use it for clinical and engineering hires, software development and regulatory work.
Sabbagh previously co-founded Journey Clinical, which supports ketamine-assisted psychotherapy practices; COO Edvard Engesæth co-founded online healthcare provider Nurx. Engesæth also invested early in Journey and advised Sabbagh. Several Siggy backers have invested in the founders’ earlier businesses, including Mercury co-founder Immad Akhund and Albert Wenger of Union Square Ventures.
